sWIFT MEDIUM Rudder (v3)

Swift Medium rudder hydrofoil is based on lessons learned over a 10 year period experimenting and testing numerous rudders. We have tried many different concepts, but settled on a high aspect, short cord design with a custom cross section that is optimised to perform at high angles of attack. Something that is a must for ability to foil-tack with ease.

Most recently we launched the new v3 spec. These rudders are slightly higher aspect, thinner and lower drag making them even better performers across a very wide wind range.

Some key features include, bent down tips that work in conjunction with Swift Large mainfoil to ensure that the span is optimised for maximum efficiency of the verticals.

The high aspect low drag profile also offers an incredibly versatile design that is capable of performing in both light and strong wind conditions. Speeds of over 31 knots have been achieved, while the foil still has some of the most generous lift numbers. The range is truly impressive!

To ensure product quality and repeatability, our Swift rudders are manufactured in Australia, using closed mould infusion technology. The quality aluminium tooling ensures excellent shape accuracy while solid carbon construction makes them arguably the stiffest and strongest foils on the market.

All foils are supplied in either 2K grey epoxy primer or clear carbon finish, and are designed to fit Swift, Mach 2.0, 2.3 and 2.4 verticals.
